Main Street in Ashland, Oregon.   The show opens on May 1, 2017, and White will be available to chat with visitors attending the First Friday Art Walk on May 5th.

The paintings will be on exhibit at the Love Revolution during May and June.  Admission to the store is free and open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 11:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and noon-5 p.m. on Sundays.  For more information, contact Brenda at 541-201-2060.

Inspired by the classical art tradition of replicating famous masterworks, White’s “Anachronistic Etudes” are playful, creative explorations that celebrate the original spirit and vibrant styles of his favorite artists and artworks.  White’s paintings at the Love Revolution Shop will include four etudes inspired by the artworks of the Japanese artist Hokusai, the classic Dutch painter Rembrandt, the French impressionist Henry Toulouse-Lautrec, and the Austrian symbolist painter Gustav Klimt.

“I initially began painting etudes as a way to expand my technical skills and improve my depictions of visionary realms of shamanic consciousness,” White explains.  “I soon discovered that I thoroughly enjoyed the creative challenge of replicating familiar artworks in new compositions, while tossing in a few anachronistic motifs for fun.”

Best known for his shamanic, visionary paintings of entheogenic themes, Timothy White is a new emerging artist who launched his painting career after retiring from his job as editor and art director of the quarterly magazine Shaman’s Drum.  His visionary paintings have been displayed at southern Oregon music festivals and various public galleries including the Oasis Gallery in Ashland, Oregon, and the Honeysuckle Cafe in Ruch, Oregon.  For more examples and further information about Timothy White’s artworks, visit his web gallery at www.timothywhitefineart.com, or email timothywhite3600@gmail.com.
