Have you noticed that the media has taken special interest in transgender youth? More and more people are telling the truth about who they really are…in spite of parental rejection, homelessness, joblessness and violent sexual harassment. This is happening because human beings cannot live well with lies. Yet transgender people cause deep anxiety for the majority of people. Our unconscious, sexist beliefs contribute to ignorance and the abuse of transgender girls and women in particular…and perpetuate sexism for everyone.

Can transgender people help lead us out of limited ideas about “the masculine”, “the feminine”, sex, gender, relationship and what a human being actually is?

Our culture’s binary gender model has shaped our core identity from the moment we were labeled “boy” or “girl”, but many people know someone who is transgender, fluid or somewhere on the gender spectrum other than where the world says they should be. Human beings are naturally complex and diverse and seek freedom at any cost. We can’t live within the gender binary even under threat of violence and exclusion without causing ourselves trauma.

Emily Waymire will be sharing some of what she has learned as the Mother of a transgender 7 year old. After a quick trip through Gender 101 we will then use the Morphogenetic Field to explore what gender is and is not. By actually feeling your true gender you are able to step out of the first mass illusion you are controlled by.

Emily WaymireEmily Waymire is a Family Constellation Therapist with a focus on social change as a foundation for personal freedom.
